Gold Diamond Ring, Possibly Edwardian

I have noticed an item for sale on eBay with no description of the 4Cs, or age, or anything really. However there is what may be a hallmark, saying '17'. I was wondering if you could identify whether this is in fact a genuine antique ring from the Edwardian period?
