I have several books and none of them say anything about a circle with a raise. For Avon if anybody else can verify this as of now I do not think of this is an Avon marking

Woo-Hoo! I confirmed that the previous answer is probably correct! The dot inside of a circle is AVON! I matched a pair of earrings that have that symbol to those sold by AVON. Yay!
