Mine Cut Antique Diamond Ring with a Yellow Heart š by: Yvonne & The Sphinx
Maharba Callie! Thanks for writing in. The Sphinx and I have been admiring this Antique Halo Ring on the bench. It's gorgeous!
That yellow center stone + square halo is GORGEOUS. These mine cut diamonds + colored center is a very Art Deco / Edwardian vibe.
About the ring in the photo: From the photo alone I canāt see a hallmark yet, but hereās what Sherlock and I would check:
1. Inside the band - Thatās where 90% of marks hide. Look for: - Metal mark: 18K, 750, 14K, PLAT, 950 - Makerās mark: initials in a shape - Country mark: anchor = Birmingham, lion = London, etc. 2. Setting style: The square "stepped" halo + mine cuts screams 1920s-1930s Art Deco . Mine cuts were mostly phased out by 1940. 3. Yellow stone: Could be a natural yellow diamond, yellow sapphire, or even a treated stone. The hallmark wonāt tell us that ā weād need lab notes for that.
A mine cut with a yellow heart. The evidence is beautiful
