Help identify hallmark found on antique pocket watch

I have an old pocket watch that was originally purchased about 100 years ago by my great grandfather. There appear to be two hallmarks on the inside of the outer case covering. I have examined the marks under a magnifying glass. One mark appears to be a crown with what looks like might be a cross on the top. The other mark is clearly a star. Just above the marks is a rectangular box with "0.585" inside the box.

Any idea of the country where the watch was made? There is no place where I can find who is the manufacturer of the watch. Is there any way of tracking down this information.
