Grading A Natural Pearl
by: Yvonne Hammouda-Eyre

How-de-doo Julia

your ship really did come home! You must have been thrilled to discover this pearl. Please describe how you came to discover the pearl in the Mollusk?

Natural Pearls are the rarest of the rare gems of the sea, and have undergone a couleur de rose escalation in price that began in 2002. Natural Pearls are a gem of an investment, and can return between 25% and 75% per year. The market is thin, and consists chiefly of the elite of the world who wish to possess literally priceless jewels that are distressingly only one or two oil tanker spills away from utter extinction.

The value of the Natural pearl will increase with the size of the pearl. A 6-mm pearl will not be twice the price of a 3-mm pearl but rather, around 5 to 6 times the price of a 3-mm!
