Thanks for writing in!
No other markings? Chances are the ring wasn’t made in the UK.
There are a number of hallmark candidates for S inside a diamond lozenge shape.
1. Spero Mfg. Co. US, active 1937 - 1957
2. Spiro, Jacob H US, active 1915 - 1937

Garnet Rings were at the height of fashion during the Victorian era from 1837-1901.
