Italian Necklace
by: Anonymous

Hi thanks for writing in.

800, 925, 950 are all silver marks.

From 1934 in Italy, new government regulations were introduced for silversmithing. Registered silversmiths in Italy were assigned silversmithing numbers. The number 61 is the number that was assigned to a particular registered smith. AR is the abbreviated province of Arezzo in Italy in which the silversmith was registered.

best wishes,
Yvonne Hammouda-Eyre
