Italian Country Marks
by: Anonymous

Hi Mark, star/number/letters are Italian marks. In 1970 new hallmarks in Italy for silver and precious metals were introduced. The mark was modified to a polygonal shape and a star was added on the left. Number and Province letter were maintained.

Italian province initials are usually two letters. Examine with magnifying glass or jewelry loupe and check the "7" before the A is not a letter.

Click here for Italian Province Marks. 750 is 18 carat gold.

Millisemal finneness can be found here.
