Well he certainly caught my attention. I thought at first it might be a Shi'a ring, which is worn by the men of the Shi'a religion, (which is a branch of Islam; Sunni and Shi'a) in anticipation of the coming of the last Imam, according to Shi'a tradition, however, I'm not sure if an actual face of a man is permissible on the ring.
