Knights Helmet Mark
by: John

Hi
Can you please show us some close-up photos for the Knights Helmet mark on this interesting ring. It is really difficult to determine marks without clear and close-up images.

Regards

John

Helmet with holes for eyes mark on 14K ring
by: Anonymous

Hi thanks for writing in. The maker's mark that immediately sprung to mind was ALOST, of Belgium on SILVER in the 18th century.

You mentioned the ring is "14k" which is the common gold standard in the US and the stone is synthetic spinel which, I believe has only be produced since 1910 19 with the verneuil process..

You might like to try hunting through US Jewelry Marks 1922 at the Jewelry Resource Centre.
