If the maker's mark looks like a menorah with 3 candles, does it also have tiny initials JA at its base? That candelabrum logo belongs to James Avery, and he has indeed designed quite a few money clips, but his pieces don't date back as far as 1929. How do you know the money clip is that old?

it sounds like an interesting piece. How did you work out the year? 1929 marked the end of a period (in American history) as the Roaring Twenties after the Wall Street Crash of 1929 ushered in a worldwide Great Depression.
