Pearl Color Change
by: Anonymous

Good Morning Majorie

Great to have you with us! Pearls can change color for a number of reasons. How long have they been locked away? Pearls like skin contact.

Majorie if they haven't been worn for awhile, and these pearls sound so endearing and have turned a soft gold - I have one Christmas wish - will you pleasssse take your grandmother's pearls out tonight Majorie and wear them! Get your grandkids, family friend, a perfect stranger to take a photo. I would love to see these pearls on you and get a better idea of the color which actually sound so pretty. Just add another new post and upload any photos.

They could be imitation pearls or freshwater pearls as they seem to predate cultured pearls - Natural pearls are VERY rare. If they are natural pearls they will not all look exactly alike.

There are so many pearl treatments which can affect or change the color in later years.

One question. Are they all perfectly round, is each pearl the same size? Does it have a clasp or not?

South sea golden pearls which are cultured pearls have reached record prices, lucky you! And don't forget the photo!

Warm Regards
Yvonne
