Hello Hanna, what is it, that the numbers are stamped on? Is it gold silver, plated, etc. Is it antique jewelry, vintage jewelry or modern jewelry? Some numbers on jewelry are pattern numbers.
Others numbers could be the decimal gold standard. Three digit numbers, for example, on gold jewelry will often indicate the gold content. ie. 333 is 8ct or 8K and usually is of European origin; it is the lowest gold standard and sometimes will tarnish.
