on a pearl necklace

Mark is an elongated diamond shape with a five point star inside. The star is not filled in. It is on the back of the clasp of a pearl necklace.

The necklace is smaller pearls...at least 18" inches long for it's time. All knotted in between. The pearls are a beige (cultured pearl?).

The clasp is lovely and ornate. I am assuming it is not gold nor diamonds as I find no 925 or carat marking.
It does appear to be high quality costume.
