That sounds exactly like a ring which I have which also has an S.G.W. Stamp. I have no idea where the ring came from, or its history. I would like to know what the stamp means, what the ring is likely to be made of and whether the stones are real.

Jackie thanks for your submission - please see the pdf download on this page you may be able to determine the date mark and sponsors mark yourself armed with this information. The dates marks can be tricky as you probably already know, especially without the benefit of a photograph.
