Hello Marta!

the Star on Italian Hallmark was used from 1968 to the Present.

VA stands for the Italian province Varese, and the Number marked on this piece, identifies the Silver or Goldsmith. After 1920 "numbers" were assigned :(

After the coming of the Fascist party in Italy in the 1920s, a wave of governmental regulations where instigated.
