Mikimoto Box?
by: Sarah

The pearl neckless looks beautiful. Does it come in the original Mikimoto box? I think that is always a good indication of it being well looked after. Just my opinion though. Best Sarah

Lovely Strand Of Mikimoto Pearls

Good Evening Mai

Mai your Mikimoto pearls look gorgeous from where I'm sitting. With the Mikimoto signature on the clasp, an appraisal certificate backed up by the jeweler's guarantee of authenticity - you can't really ask for much more.

They look like lustrous Akoya Pearls, even in your photo. Mikimoto learned that Akoya oysters produced the best pearls.
Over a century later, the company that carries his name is still famed for the quality of its Akoya pearls.

Not even forty years old, Mikimoto set himself the goal of one million oysters in the water by the year 1901. And then came the cruelest blow of all, his beloved wife died at the age of 32. She had given Mikimoto five children and also delivered his first five cultured pearls! He immersed himself totally in his work, as a reaction to his wife's death and never re-married; he married his business instead.

Warm Regards
