Vintage Pink Pearls from Japan

Uncle brought these pearls to my mother from Japan right after WWII. They are a very light pink in color. Any idea what these might be; i.e., Mikimoto or?

The reason I believe they have some value is that he brought the other sister a large (cedar chest size) Teak hand carved chest and I'm guessing the value to be about the same in dollars of those days. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
