Maker's stamp?
by: April In Texas

I bought a 14k gold diamond ring at Service Merchandise in the 90's and it has the following stamps on it: CI 14K VIP.

My guess is that the VIP is the maker's stamp? Don't know who it is, though. And I don't think it indicates the type of metal.

Wanda there's only one way to find out if your jeweler is pulling you leg or not. You might like to try and test the metal.

VIP Marking
by: Yvonne Hammouda-Eyre

Wanda

The carat (abbreviation ct or kt) is used in UK and Europe.
The US use kt or K.
You may find the article about Caratage interesting.

The VIP marking, it 's probably the maker, i believe there is a maker with initials - VIP
