Hi Carolyn - the ring is hallmarked 9 carat gold. T & S will be the manufacturer, the people who made the ring. The Q or O will be the date letter. The shape of the letter marks are really important. I thought just the letters were all that's needed to date a ring but my jeweler told me it's not that simple. The shape and the style and also the shape of the reserves, the shields behind the marks contain important information when you're trying to identify hallmarks. Concerning the arrow and mushrooms markings, I can tell you that it doesn't sound like a British mark. Good luck!
