Lowengrin Gold and Diamond Jewelry
by: HighFalutinFancy

Lohengrin was a New York jewelry production company founded in 1871. It produced jewelry in 18k and 14k, and was known for using quality diamonds, as per their own claims.

In March of 1948 the Blanchard Co filed for and received a trademark of the phrase "Lohengrin America's Most Famous Name In Diamond Rings", and that trademark expired in Nov of 1992.

One commenter on anonther site said she and her husband were married in 1994 and purchased a ring new with the Lohingren logo. More info can be found if you'll search the web for "Lohengrin jewelry".

It seems to have been a quality firm which was very active at the turn of the century and on into the 1960's. Didn't research any further but the info is out there if you're willing to spend a few minutes searching the web. I wish you success.
Hope this helps you find the info you want.

I don't think it's Lohengrin
by: Dave

After looking at some picture's I don't think it is Lohengrin. The lion looks similar but there is Lohengrin next to it. But I could be wrong.
I have included a link to some of Lohengrin rings on the web. If that is allowed.

Lohengrin?
by: Anonymous

I just read Lohengrin is a Romantic opera composed and written by Richard Wagner, first performed in 1850. Is there a Lohengrin jeweler too?

Geez - I'm glad it's the end of the year....

Maybe I know - Lohengrin
by: Amanda

Through searching photos of similar rings online, I think the hallmark belongs to Lohengrin. Can someone confirm this for me? :)

18 K can be part of the Manufacturers Mark Equation
by: Anonymous

Just a quick comment on this mark. What one would normally take to be a purity mark as in "18 K" can also be part of the manufacturer's equation. Just to confuse us even more ;-)

Alfred Humbert & Son manufacturing jewelers is a five pointed star image followed by 18K (on seemless gold wedding rings) 1902 - 1930s Philidelphia, US is an example.

The Lion's Tail Counts
by: Leana

what is the animal? It look like a lion, but then again i had a late night last night:-) I am looking at the swooshing tail? FYI Lions and big cats are and have been popular maker's marks. The big cat with a long S shaped swooshing tail was the Silver mark of Estonia on Silver in the 1930s - 1990s Seasons Greetings & Happy New Year!

Description
by: Amanda

Thanks for the comment. No, the band does not have any stones. It is though an all white gold floral embossed band. I am just interested as to what that mark denotes. Perhaps it's a maker's mark?

Are there any gemstones?
by: Anonymous

Hi Amanda

doubt it's a purity mark as we can see it's already hallmarked 18 carat gold. Are there any stones in the ring or is it a plain gold band?
