Age of Cameo

Appears to be late Victorian to early Art Nouveau (late 1800s to early 1900s). I would have to hold it in my hand to know. The type of metal used and the clasps would be very telling regarding the age.

Are there any markings? - words, numbers, letters? - this would tell you the designer, possible age, where it was made and/or the metal purity. The price of the item would be contingent on the metal (gold, sterling, base metal, etc) as would the designer.
