Old beautiful jade ring with diamonds, white metal only stamping is 226

Hello, I have a very old, very beautiful ring with a huge mottle jade cab. The ring is very cleverly cut with baguettes of metal cut to sparkle and about 12 diamonds (tested). The metal is white, doesn't tarnish, and seems a lot harder than silver. There may have been another stamping that has faded.

One jeweler told me neither gold nor silver, one said silver another said she just didn't know.
