Star sapphire diamond ring

My mother has an vintage star sapphire diamond ring, we are not sure about the real value of this ring. Also we assume that this is a platinum ring but it has no hallmark on it. I read that if it is a vintage ring made before 1975 it can be that it doesn't have any hallmark.

Could you give us some information based on the pictures attached?
