14K, F.S. & Alexandrite?

I have this very old ring. It has a 9.5mm round cut alexandrite stone. I can only assume that the stone is synthetic due to the popularity of created stones of this nature. The marking is 14k f.s. and some type of foriegn symbol. Was wandering if you could shed any light on this maker or era? I am uploading a photo for you to see. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
