antique money locket

I acquired a locket which looked like a photo locket but upon opening it by a button on the side, I realized that it was not for a photo but had a spring in the center where you could insert British coins

I believe is was my great grandmother then my mothers and I have now handed it down to my niece

I would like to tell her a little bit about it It is solid silver and came from England

It is circlular in shape and comes with a Silver Chain

Could you possibly know what I am talking about?

I should have taken a picture of it before giving it to my niece but that can always be done in the future
