I never wear jewelry now and I have not only all the stuff I had purchased/gotten free for having the party, but I also have all of my mother in laws jewelry as well. I own and run the Facebook group dedicated to Sarah Coventry and Emmons jewelry. I collect it and plan on writing a book about the CH Stuart company, the parent company of the jewelry brands. I just ran across a seller of some Contempo jewelry that belonged to once region managers of Sarah Coventry and wondered if possibly they had a hand in the company - Bob and Betty Hunt. In the meantime, I would love to learn more about Contempo's history and sales strategy as with other direct sales jewelry companies. Vickie Everhart, would like to hear from you as well.

I sold Contempo Fashions jewelry in the late 80's in Connecticut. I still have a number of pieces, some I am selling online. I was told by my supervisor that the company was started by some of the staff of Sarah Coventry when it was closed. There is some information that disputes that, however.
Though all unmarked, some pieces were designed by well-known designers. I regret that I did not keep any of the catalogs for reference today.
I see there is an eBay store using the same name, but they are selling Wang so not connected.

I was glad to find this site with all these people who sold and believed in Contempo fashions. I too was a consultant early 80's. I hosted several parties. You didn't have to sell anything, it sold itself. My mother still has some little booties with all her grandbabies birthstones on it, however, she has great-grandbabies now and we would like to get more of those booties if we can find them. Loved Contempo, and wouldn't mind getting back into it if it were still around. I mean, who else gives you lifetime warranty. Great jewelry, great prices

I used to sell Contempo Fashions and still have not only jewelry (tons of it) but scarves and the video for the scarves. I moved from sales associate to district manager in less than a month. The girls said they would follow me anywhere if I went into business again...but, that was years and years ago. Absolutely loved the products because as I am allergic to a lot of jewelry I wasn't to theirs.

Brings back great memories I might have met a few of you I was the Payroll manager and printed all your payroll checks...6500 a week... I remember the million dollar weeks...it was great jewelry and Audrie our vice president was from Sarah Coventry. Kurt Gerson was a wonderful, happy, fun man to work for and he looked over everyones sales and signed each check and wrote great job it meant a lot to him...it was his baby one of the divisions of the Gerson company. Peter was more involved in the other side. We hosted a conference at the Hyatt in like 1986 I explained the processing of our orders and the computers to the sales reps when you visited or offices. The Target on Metcalf is where the company was. I think around 1995 it closed, economy and home parties weren't doing good. But Kurt passed away in 1998 or so and Peter just passed away in 2014 at 80 something. What a great pair of brothers and Peter loved his dogs. The Gerson company moved to Olathe and is still open and yes some of the old workers still work there Terri Rieman was one of the Managers in our office and is still there. Great jewelry that still shines today and a great company to work for thanks or the memories! RIP Peter & Kurt Gerson you will never be forgotten!

It was my good fortune to meet Kurt and Peter in 1977 at their offices in Shawnee Mission, KS. I was 27 years old, living in Overland Park, KS and had been a manager for Macy's, The Gap and Chess King. Kurt and Peter believed in the future of the Direct Sales and hoped to expand their successful business into home parties and catalog sales -- and asked me if I would be interested in creating and managing a new division of The Gerson Company. Yes, of course! From the very beginning, there was something special about company, people; the vision and leadership of the Gersons. Awesome experience!

I was a Manager with Contempo Fashions--was with them for 12 years--1986-1998 and yes, our beloved owner of Contempo Fashions passed away from cancer around 1996 or 1997 and the company was eventually sold to a company that was just not for us...nothing could compare to Contempo.
I am now with the very wonderful and so similar to C ontempo Fashions jewelry Co called Unmistakably Latasia. What I have found out is that Anthony Calandrelli, owner of Latasia, is also the owner of the American Ring Co. in Providence RI... and the American Ring Co., back in the 80's and 90's, became the exclusive vendor for all of the rings that Contempo offered. Anthony and Kurt were very good friends and business associates and Anthony was eventually chosen by Kurt to be the exclusive vendor for CF because the American Ring Co delivered high quality merchandise, provided outstanding and reputable customer service & reliability and delivered promptly!
