10k white gold ring
by: Anonymous

Hi Cheryl

the 6 prong sun or star will be the manufacturer's mark. The digits that read - 10 k are the gold purity marks. 10K, 10ct or 416 (parts per 1000) or is 41.6% gold and is the minimum USA standard. 10k is the most hard wearing and a good choice for investing with the intention of handing down.

You mention it is a silver color, which means it is most likely 10 k white gold, which is an attractive metal for white stones, particularly diamonds as the white gold has the affect of making the diamonds appear brighter & whiter against the white metal.

Chances are the stones are natural gemstones. I wouldn't hesitate in having this ring appraised by the experts.

best wishes,
