One Way To Tell If It's A Hard-Stone Cameo
by: Anonymous

Good Morning,

Vicki, the material the cameo is made from will either be hard-stone, shell or composite material.

Also, Vicki, there's nothing "wrong" with a composite cameo, providing this information is provided at the time of purchase. Some people have a "thing" about faux cameo but few can afford an antique cameo masterpiece.

It's just that when a customer purchases a faux cameo, when they have been mislead to believe the material is genuine shell or hard-stone, they have good reason to be as wild as an unbacked colt!

Is the surface as cold as stone? This is one very simple way to determine if the material is hard-stone. Looking forward to your reply.

Best Wishes,
Yvonne
