Marcasite Religious pendant

What I have is a triple pendant (pieces slide). The outside and back are sterling carved roses with marcasite. The inside is all religious icons on all unseen sides, one is dated 1830. I can't seem to find any information on this type of pendant and was hoping someone could lead me in the right direction. Thank you.
