Just looking at the photo Lanelle, I really can't see any evidence that your brooch is mid 20th century. Evidence might be found by examining the pin on the reverse.
Quality pieces, mid 1900s aurora borealis costume jewelry in good condition with interesting craftmanship and interesting design that incorporate New Look AB crystals and rhinestones are sought after and gaining in popularity. This AB brooch looks a bit household, a bit on the ordinary side, if you don't mind my saying, in comparison to some of the aurora borealis vintage pieces currently in the market.
A signed Vendome aurora borealis bow tie brooch with matching earrings made with large aurora borealis crystals will fetch upwards of $200
If you find a buyer who is willing to pay more than $25 for your brooch - I would accept.
Can someone tell me maybe the value on the brooch. Thank you

AURORA BOREALIS & The New Look by: Anonymous
Good Morning Lanelle
thank you MargaD for your reply to Lanelle's question! I second your opinion. The irridescent shimmering rainbow of colour known in the jewelry world as AURORA BOREALIS thats reflecting from the surface of crystal beads, glass beads or rhinestones (after they have been treated) especially under candleight was given the name in recognition of the amazing changing light phenonmena known as the Northern Lights.
The process was first developed for Swarovski's crystals in the 1950s when Christian Dior was looking for jewelry and crystals to compliment his NEW LOOK for the new woman of the new post war era.
Only the wealthy at first, could afford the jewelry made with the crystals and beads by the designers, but it was licensed for use by manufacturers such as Corocraft for their Vendome line. Quality AB Jewelry of the 1950s is collectible.
Kind Regards Yvonne
