Appraisal of Antique Locket
by: Yvonne

Good Morning!

Donna, your antique gold locket is exquisite; a paragon of classic victorian beauty! The V letter inlaid with pearls stand for Victoria- Queen of England who was adored by her loyal subjects. It could be commemorative of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee Year. The date was Sunday, June 20, the year was 1897.

As often the case, souvenirs of the celebration were in order. Brooches, lockets, pins and pendants in every price range were made and sold.

The locket could very well be 18k gold. It needs to be tested for positive determination.

The green stone looks beautiful. Is it a gemstone? Until you ID the stone you will not be able to estimate the value.

I can arrange an appraisal for you here, in australia :-) I do have a number of international clients.

Best Wishes,

Yvonne Hammouda-Eyre
