Thanks Amanda for your comment. I will take an appraisal into consideration. Of course I am very curious about the value of my little blue enameled brooch. The hidden place is too tiny for a photo but some hair or nice smelling fragance could be the case in my opinion.

What a unique piece!
The marking reads "Brevete SDGD" which means Brevete Sans Guarantee Du Gouvernment. It is a french patent mark indicating that a registration for a patent was applied for.
The hidden space could serve a variety of purposes. Poison rings were common during the era as were lockets used to store safe keeps such as a picture of a loved one or a lock of hair.
