The Passengers on the Titanic will Become Legend
by: Yvonne Hammouda-Eyre

Hi Amanda
what an articulate round up of the titanic debate; should or should not the artifacts and jewelry that belonged to the passengers on the Titanic be retrieved or left where the Titanic sank?

I would have left a comment to your post before now but have been flat out at the hallmarks guru on Antique Jewelry Investor Help Central.

There are good arguments on both sides of the Titanic debate, arguments for leaving Titanic memorabilia alone and the other side of the debate, retrieving Titanic memorabilia and displaying the artifacts in museums, as your comments highlighted so very well.

For the sake of the argument, I'm for retrieving Titanic memorabilia. In my view they're like family snap-shots that evoke memories of the passengers on the Titanic.

As long as we're all still looking at those Titanic "snap-shots" whether it's an Edwardian Ring or a pair of eyeglasses that once belonged to a passenger on the Titanic, the memories of those passengers will live on and will not become Titanic legend.

Thank you Amanda for your great comments on the Titanic debate!
