Oh my when I first saw this unusual piece - and because the site is about jewelry, I initially thought it might be a Marjorie Schick- (1941) astonishing creation - she really pushs the boundaries like no other and is one of the most radical of American designers - her three dimensional drawings could function as wearable art - but alas it's not a monumental wearable grape press but a real one and in SILVER - but what a powerful and controlling personal adornment it would be! Maybe someone involved in viticulture might be able to shed some light on it for you. Very interesting all the same.
