Small Gold Signet Ring

by Sydney
(Canada)

Many years ago I found this ring on a beach. It is 14K gold and so small that it doesn't fit on my pinky - possibly it was made for a child. However, it is well-worn down so that I cannot make out the features of the engraving. No single child could have worn this ring enough to encounter such wearing down, so I thought it might have been a family heirloom. On the interior, there is a female head with tiara, surrounded on the edge by stars. On the inside band there is simply a 14K mark.

I really would love to know the origin and the human story behind this ring.
