"tradition" pearl necklace

My mom picked up this pearl necklace and is trying to find out more about it (age, type of pearls, possible value, etc). I hope you can help. It is a single strand necklace with a pearl clasp. It came in a velvet shell case. I've included pictures to help. Thanks so much!
