Vintage Palladium Ring with Diamonds - Star T Mark

I have a vintage ring -- found in my brother-in-law's mother's jewelry box after she passed. He had never seen it before even though he was her care giver for years. It is silver in color and very, very light weight. The diamonds are real, but it is not marked silver. I believe it may be Palladium from during the war but I cannot find any information about company hallmarks making palladium jewelry in that era. Any good books or resources available out there I can look? The makers mark is a raised star with a capital T inside but that is it. I know it could be platinum, but platinum tends to scratch and this has barely a mark on it. I am an antique dealer and very used to researching items but this has me stumped. Any info appreciated. Thanks!
