Was my gold ring made before year 1900?

Recently found unstamped gold ring on beach. The location found was in close proximity to an 1897 wreck. The "OH KIM SOON". I know unmarked rings can date back from before 1900. I also know that independent jewelers can make unmarked pieces. As well as your high school jewelry student. Is there a way to identify if the piece i have is in fact made before the year 1900? The piece itself is sized small. It does not fit on my (mans) pinky finger.
And, the inside, upper portion of the ring is hollow as shown in picture. Instead of being solid, which i have found in older pieces. If the ring is in fact made before 1900, was is it's worth? More than it's weight in gold? Anyone out there have any info. on this? Any insight on this would be helpful.
