Always prong set stones?
by: Anonymous

Where did you read that Weiss only "prong-set" their stones? I would love to read the article. I have seen many brooches that are glued and I too, believe they are fakes. Need some back up, primary source info! Also I still am wondering about the hallmark that is in an arch with two sizes of "S"’s . I believe that fake too, but no proof!

Floral and Figurative Rhinestones
by: Anonymous

Weiss is normally associated more with floral and figurative designs featuring carefully color - coordinated, Austrian rhinestones. Are there any rhinestones on the brooch? The American firm Weiss always prong-set their stones. If the stones are glued, you know that it's a fake.
Is there a copyright symbol near the name? Early Weiss pieces did not have the copyright symbol.
