I agree with Yvonne - it sounds like it may be of European origin, but in order to research further clear images would help.

Sailing Ship Marks

Hi Gram

if the ring is marked with a millesimal value there is the possibility it's of European origin. There are quite a lot of ship marks though :-) Not necessarily a maker's mark, could even be a town mark. Not sure.

For instance, RENNES, FRANCE - ca 1760s - 1800 is a sailing boat - need a photo.

If you can manage to get a few images, you might like to consider having it appraised by the experts. Details Here.
