Unmarked Ruby Ring From Great Great Grandma

I was given a ruby ring that was passed down from my great great grandmother. There is no one left alive who can tell me about this ring. I was hopping you could help. Anything, like the year or any interesting information. There are no marks on the ring. Thank you for any help you can give.
