I am sure that this bracelet, lovely as it is, is not american indian work. It is italian mosaic work most likely dating from the 1930's. I have some similar pieces and there are a lot on offer on ebay.co.uk, in England, so have a look to compare. It is very pretty, so please wear and enjoy!

Symbolic Native American Colours

Hi Charity!

The two colours of the inlaid "chips" used on your Bracelet are both traditional & striking. I believe they are Symbolic in Native American folklore; Red (coral) represents Mother Earth and Blue (turquoise) represents Father Sky.

I just Love your Native American Bracelet! It's raw and earthy - just like Native American Jewelry should be - Native American Jewelry at its best in my opinion. The "inlay work" that's produced now a-days looks too much like manufactured jewelry. They've lost the spirit! Too technically proficient;-) "Chip work" could be the grand daddy of Native American Inlay work. What do you think? Suzanne
