Probably Not Lalique
by: Anonymous

Hi Anne

thanks for writing in. Rene Lalique was a leading French designer and maker of jewelry and glassware in the Art Nouveau style. Earrings by Rene Lalique would be very rare.

I believe Rene Lalique concentrated on larger forms, such as bracelets, necklaces, pendants, combs and pectorals with themes emphasizing forms found in nature, such as peacocks, snakes, insects, blossoming branches, orchids. etc It should also have the gold mark of France, the French eagle mark.

In Jewel of the Month you can see a beautiful pendant made by Rene Lalique that's on auction at Sothebys New York, early this this month (December) 2010.

warm regards
Yvonne Hammouda-Eyre
