my favorite ring
It is a gemstone measuring 40 carats. I have been researching it for about sixteen years. It is hand made Russian gold and unusual markings on the inside which are not Egyptian. this has been established by an Egyptologist. also seen by an antiquities dealer from new york. It is a beautiful ring.

I have two rings my sister in law gave to me. She is from the former Soviet Georgia.
One has a mark that is worn away. It is pink in color, but I guess it's gold.
The other has a bunch of marks. There is a hammer and sickle inside of a star. The numbers 583 are on the right of the star. There is a mark too small to identify on the left. There is a second mark to the left of that stamp. It is .8WM. I think this has two diamonds set in the flowers, which seem sort of art deco. The gold seems two tone, white and yellow.

Any idea of a mark that looks like "C" with a shooting star next to it. Sorry I don't have the ability to take a decent photo. From everthing I've read, chances are poor that Grandma's ring is authentic, so I'm hoping the answer to the mysterious mark will answer the question once & for all........Thanks

This ring appears to have been cast. I say this because it has several pit marks inside. The mark is square with a five pointed star stamped within a circle. It has no other markings. Can you tell me anything about it?
Thank You,
Jeff
