Old Rose Cut Diamonds & Antique Jewelry
by: Anonymous

Hello Marga

it's always lovely to have you visit with us on Antique Jewelry Investor. And an exquisite antique diamond brooch with blue enamel! There is just something about old rose-cut diamonds...

The mark does indeed look like the French Guarantee Mark, the Eagle of FRANCE on 18ct+ GOLD - ca 1838 - Present

The hinge that you can see on your brooch was popular until around the 1890's. It is called the TUBE HINGE and the pin stem is attached to the center tube and is set between the 2 end tubes which are stationary.

best wishes,

Yvonne Hammouda-Eyre
